5 Strategies to Maximise Your Organic Marketing

You know how awesome organic marketing can be and you’re chomping at the bit to get started!

Now, before you get too excited, it’s important to understand the strategies you should follow to get the most out of organic marketing. As I shared last time, organic marketing comes in many forms, from blog posts to social media updates and more.

In your eagerness to get started, you might fall into the trap of creating lots of content and share it everywhere. Trust me, I’ve seen it before. But, this is not a strategy – this is a content dump that will not deliver the results you’re after.

Before jumping too far ahead, get to know these 5 strategies which will help maximise your organic marketing and save you from content overwhelm.

Strategies to help you get the most out of organic marketing

Develop a social media strategy

Increase the chances of your content being found and shared organically (not through boosting or ads) by approaching each social media post in a systematic way.

  • Create and share content that speaks to your customer and is relevant to them.
  • Be consistent in your messaging so you become the go-to source for your customers.
  • Share your content in relevant groups, to reach more of your target audience.
  • Don’t post and run – be present throughout the day so you can build connections.
  • Use hashtags and keywords in your updates so your content can be easily found.

Consolidate your platforms

It’s impossible to be across every single social media channel, let alone do any of them well. Instead, pick just three platforms to concentrate on, asking yourself these questions:

  • Which social media platforms are best suited to my business?
  • Which platforms are my customers using?

Stop wasting time on a platform that doesn’t suit you or your business and start putting effort into the platform where your ideal customers are waiting!

Optimise your website

There’s no point sending leads to your website if it’s not set up to deliver a great user experience. Optimise your website to turn those leads into customers by improving:

  • Site navigation
  • Site speed
  • Mobile responsiveness
  • Call to action
  • Design
  • Overall user experience

Create a customer avatar

If you’re struggling to picture your ideal customer, this exercise is for you! Make up a person who would be the perfect customer for your business. Give them a name, age, occupation, interests, hobbies, hopes and fears. You can then ‘talk’ to this person when you create content.

This way, your copy will truly resonate with your audience. If you know who you are speaking to, you can use their words, address their pain points, solve their problems and refer to their deepest hopes and fears. This is a powerful marketing tool that really works.

Optimise your content

Supercharge your organic marketing by ensuring your content is shareable and searchable. Always keep your ideal customer front and centre when you’re writing for your website, blog or social media channels. Copy that resonates with your target market is more likely to be shared.

Also, don’t let yourself down by not using keywords for search engines. Optimising your content for SEO will pay off big time in the long run. Come up with a list of targeted keywords that your audience uses to search online and use these keywords in every piece of content you create.
